No problem using either. The original part [31600-KY2-703] has been superceded by 31600-MV4-010.

They're crazy expensive, but I'd strongly advise always using a genuine Honda/Shindengen part. Ensure there's no corrosion in the connector block on the wiring harnes, and that the regulator is in good contact with the mount for the best heat dissipation.

I'd recommend getting newer-tech series-circuit RR such as Shindengen SH775 or SH847. They don't run stator @100% fulltime like old shunt-circuit RR. Lots less heat to wear out stator and actual gains some Hp and mileage!

Can get Furukawa wiring-kit from Eastern Beaver.

Or connectors from Corsa-technic

I've heard of people fitting a newer MOSFET type reg/rec (for something like a VFR or CBR), but never done it myself. It will be good to hear about any practical experiences on an NSR.

Again, if going this route, even though I've not done it myself, I would strongly advise a genuine Shindengen part.
