I have a frame that has the mounts for one side of the rear sets bent inwards. It looks like the bike took a slide and bent the rear set along with the frame. Any tips on straightening this?
1. Don't do it... just find another frame - there's enough of them about!
2. If you really must, have a professional do it!
There's just too much at risk by straightening it yourself. If that mount fails while you are at 200kph because you failed to treat the metal properly before and/or after straightening it, who knows what may happen!
A professional will (should) be able to x-ray and/or stress test the mounts after the job is done too, something you can't.
It just ain't worth the risk! _________________ Andy.

I hear ya on the cracking thing. Just wanted to make sure I was clear in describing where the damage is. The two tabs that stick up from the main frame (where the rear set bolts onto) are bent in. There is actually no damage to the main frame just the tabs. Would you still recommend not fixing it?
