No spark on MC21

Fri Nov 15, 2019 1:08 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Getting back to working on this bike. Can't get it running and I have a suspicion it's no spark. Bike had sat for quite a few years before I dug back into it. Was running when parked. can't see any spark when I pulled one of the plugs and I suspect nothing is happening. Though my eyesight ain't what it used to be. I did remove the posh Derestrictor and have done a little troubleshooting on the loom and wiring associated with pick ups to pgm looks good. PGM is good as it works in another mc21.

Thoughts?

Have you tried the Electrex fault finding guide in the Workshop section?

Forgot to post a follow up. Turns out the pickups were bad. Seems strange that they failed by just sitting for years. Bike makes lots of smoke and noise now!

Everything works until it fails! Laughing

Might be one of those more common than you'd think one-in-a-million coincidences! Maybe a pickup failed just as you flicked the kill switch. I've seen stranger things happen! Confused Wink

Pickups are one of the components that would be good to get Honda to start reselling.
