Mc16 carb float gaskets

Fri Jun 12, 2020 12:46 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi
Just stripped the mc16 down after quite a few years of not much use.
I’m after some carb spares just wondering the best place to get some gaskets.

Thanks.

Allens performance, or try David Silver, if you have the part number its easy to go on Silvers site and see if they have them and how much, good luck.

Allen’s performance that’s it, that’s where I got some jets years ago, I couldn’t remember the name. I’ll give them a try. Thanks

Right, look up GASKET GURU, his name is Dan, he's in Brackley in Northants, he will fabricate any gasket if you have a pattern, I have had several off him over the last few years no problem, he also sometimes sells on the evil bay, if you have no luck I will try and dig out his phone number.

There are only two gaskets, Les. On the top cover plates for the needles.

The other "gaskets" are formed rubber seals. Two for the float bowls, and two for the carb bodies.

Yep, wrong again Andy, i'm gonna have to give this up, i'm afraid the old age is catching me up too quick and fuzzing the memory.

Thanks les, but it’s the rubber float bowl ones that I need.

There are some aftermarket kits on the dreaded auction site, but I can't comment on their quality. As harsh as it seems price-wise though, I wouldn't use anything but the genuine part(s) for the carbs.

That works out half the price, but like you say the quality might be questionable, looks like I’ll be putting them back on and hope they hold for a bit longer!
Thanks
