Hey guys,
Need a new speedo drive unit - the part that goes on the sprocket cover with the round white plastic bit that has, on my bike, unfortunately rounded itself out. Part number 44808-KV3-701
Where might these be found? In Australia, preferably.
Thanks! _________________ MC21 Honda NSR250. TYGA 300 conversion.
If you struggle to get one in Australia, feel free to either get one sent to me to forward, or I can order one for you and ship it. _________________ Andy.

Shall give them a call in the morning, but past experience says that since the NSR250 was a grey import here, Honda Australia don't want to know about it... unless, of course, the part number is shared with another bike that was imported here. Find out tomorrow...
Thanks for the offer, Andy. Are you able to confirm that they're easily available where you are? _________________ MC21 Honda NSR250. TYGA 300 conversion.
P&P is about £6.50 standard minimum charge for a small item, so you're looking at about £17 to me. A bit of a sod really, because no reason it couldn't just be popped in a small jiffy bag for about a quid! _________________ Andy.

Called my local Honda dealer, and they were able to find the part number, however, it is just the white plastic 'cup' on the end not the whole unit. That's fine, didn't realise they were separable, however. Maybe with a little heat and oil and it may slide off?
Part could be "up to a month away", had to be ordered from Japan.
Are you looking for the drive unit that bolts on the cover? 44800KV3701
I might have one in the garage _________________ Why do things simply when you can complicate them
Not absolutely sure of the part number now. Different parts fiche seem to be in disagreement. Am certain the plastic part is all that is required, as that is what is rounded out. So long as the old plastic part is easily removed and replaced without too much difficulty.
The Speedo joint part number is definitely correct and available. An expensive bit of plastic

That's the part he needs, according to the last MC21 Parts Manual (issue #8).
Part 44800-KV3-701 is the complete drive assembly (including the little plastic cup) that screws to the flywheel/sprocket cover, which is discontinued. _________________ Andy.

I may have to sit down and design one for a 3D printer...
Just as good, I'd say. While the OEM ones are a hard plastic, they still eventually wear out. Not sure what printer material would be best suited to the job, but you can easily print a few off and quickly swap them out if they wear prematurely. _________________ Andy.
