Disabling air correction

Thu Jul 06, 2017 10:26 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

G'day fellow smokers,

I would like to scrap the solenoid system on my R2 MC18 all together and then continue to fine tune the jetting as I would on a more traditional two stroke carb.
I have trawled for answers on running without air solenoids but my findings have so far been inconclusive.
There is talk of restricting the air flow in the pipes with jets but there is not much clarity on which exact pipes are being referred too.
1) the float bowl vent which you obviously leave fully open.
2) the pipe coming out at the air inlet side of the carb that sits towards the bottom of the slide.
3) the other pipe that sits about the same heights as the float bowl vent but on the other side of the carb.

My question to yall is which of these pipes do you close altogether, restrict with a jet or leave open?
