Samco or OEM hoses for my MC18

Fri Dec 30, 2016 10:27 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

What's the view on Samco hoses over standard?
My rebuild is moving on slowly and I'm considering options. All my current hoses are original, seem undamaged.
I know most of the hoses are discontinued and wonder if later part numbers are compatible. I have one original lower hose and have ordered a 5K hose for the other. Not sure about the upper 4 hoses.
The Samco MC18 kit only has 4 hoses to the 6 for MC21/28

If your'e building a standard stock road bike, to a standard i know your'e capable of Rob, i wouldn't be considering samco's, could never see the benefits other than bling factor, if it's because oem are unavailable, then go ahead, but use black, ( unless you want bling ), i think one of their selling points is they are supposed to run cooler, but on a stock road bike thats not commuting everyday, that shouldn't be a problem, shouldn't be a problem on track either, i also personally think they are overpriced for what they are.

Im with Les on this one, I know its down to personal taste but I think they look sh*t! They just look cheap and tacky and best left to gixxah owners who like to colour code their hoses to match the rest of the anodised tat they use to devalue their bikes Very Happy oem all the way for me.

I just bought a set from China for my MC18, from a very popular auction site, and I think they come in all colours including black of you don't fancy the bling factor needed a bit of cutting down here and there but included clips, also included the small dia pipes from splitter to cylinders and were less than 1/3 price of Samcos, seem pretty good quality so far, I just could'nt stretch to the cost of Samco's. I went for red as my bike is red & white, but then we do like a bit of bling in Essex Laughing

You can by Samco hoses in black, although I believe they are a special order.

I always buy samco for my bikes, they last longer and give me the option to customize the color.

For my ktm supermoto i have ktm camo
For my Husqvarna TC250 i went yellow
for my NSR250r i went red
For my Lil race car i went viper red.

They are much better than stock and hold up to all the beatin of everyday life.
