Hi all

Just picked up a run down MC21 SE from ebay. Looking to getting it up and running first and then brush it up cosmetically as well.

This is my first 2 stroke and can't wait to hear it BARPPP in real life. Ive come from an R6 and a RVF400 but still have an 1198 in the shed

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a schematics guide for the carbies. There are some lines which have come loose which i believe is keeping this girl from firing up.

if no guide exists, i do have pictures of the loose lines if this is of better help to explain my dilemma.

Hello again

Looks like you're referring to the breather pipes.

So what are the symptoms your bike is displaying preventing it from starting?

sounds like bike is cranking strong with each kick. Just seems like no petrol is getting to it.

Battery is charged.

Poured new petrol in tank.

would these breather pipes be the cause of this non-start?

I assume the bike has good spark? Have you had the carbs out? If it has been sitting for a while there is a good chance that the jets are blocked/ gummed up and will need cleaning.

Il check the spark plugs and see how it goes.

I have just noticed that the pet cock has a leak and the t- piece where the hoses meet is dry and cracked. I will look into these issues

Also, the breather hoses dont connect to anywhere?

Breather hoses are for breathing to the atmosphere, no worries there.

No petrol to ignite, I would agree, inspect the carbs and see what is going on there, float heights may be out, jets blocked, check that the throttle is moving slides as well.
