g'day all,

greetings from Australia...

I was hoping for some information if possible on a NSR I have recently purchased. I'm planning a complete re-build from chassis up and am wanting to know what I have!!

Here's the numbers -

JH291RMC211074251

Engine MC16E - 1284304

Sticker under seat - NSR250R9N

On the heads - KW6 - N -1

Under the rear cowl it has a PGM-III with a small black box wired to it stamped HRC Not for highway use

I was told when I purchased it privately that it had 300 heads, it also has dog fight r exhausts on it. The sale also came with the standard 249cc heads and standard exhaust. Someone has painted it in a custom colour so not sure if the numbers tell me what colours it was originally. Ive had rgv's and kr1s's but this is my first nsr (finally, they are hard to come by down here!!) Ive already picked up heaps of tips on this forum.... its been great.... thanks in advance...cheers

The frame number, engine number, and subframe sticker all indicate a 1993 NSR250R SE. There will be another sticker on the subframe indicating the original base colour. NH-196 will be white, or NH-1 black.

KW6 is the model designation of the NSR150SP. The 300 kit is based on modified NSR150 barrels. If you contact Matt@TYGA he should be able to tell you what generation the barrels are, as they should have an engraved serial number on them somewhere.

no worries , thanks Andy, checked it out and it is a NH-196 so white it is!

Does anybody know what prospec quarter means?

I have been stripping it down to a chassis today ( engines out, wiring looms out , come to think of it its now down to a chassis on wheels!! ) I noticed on the 300 heads a hi and low setting on the side of the head where the cables are located. this is also at the top where the cables feed into ... any idea what this is, im guessing power valves at a higher rev range?? Also whats the adjustment for ? from hi to low? and do they both have to be exactly at the same point between hi and low or both at hi or both at low etc..

Thanks in advance , cheers
