MC16 power valve cable availability.

Sat Jan 03, 2015 10:00 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi guys,

My project MC16 needs the upper cylinder power valve cables replacing as the old ones are frayed, found the part no. From the guide on here and searched my usual sources for genuine parts (David silvers, lings honda and Cmsnl) and they are showing as discontinued on all sites.

I have checked availability of later model cables and they are still in stock, does anyone know if cables from later model NSR's will fit my mc16? Or failing that does anyone know where I can find a pair?

Thanks,
Kieran.

Hello Kieran,

Have you considered making them?
Venhill Cables sell all the bits and bobs you need to do it.
You can even use the original outer part of the able to make things easier.
Have a look at this clip of a home made cable:

Hi Kieran

I had a chat with a guy from Venhill at the bike show last year and they supply all the bits to make your own if you want, or you can send them your old ones and they can copy them I think. Definately a good place to start.

Hi Guys thanks for the reply's, I decided to go with the venhil hoses in the end and make my own, bought 2 sets to make sure I have enough.

Hopefully the MC16 will be a runner before long if I pull my finger out!
