NSR250SE Restored at last!

Fri Dec 26, 2014 12:00 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi guys,

I've finally finished my MC28. It's MOT'd, taxed, insured and has a numberplate. That was difficult to get because HMRC didn't send a letter with a number on it saying I paid the tax at the port. I had to ask the port agent to chase it up.

I developed a load of titanium parts to sell on my website and put them all over the bike. They really stand out especially when you compare them with the standard parts.

There's a missing sticker on the left side of the fairing because the original was damaged. There aren't any to be bought out there unfortunately. I bought some red vinyl but the colour was wrong so I thought it'd look fine leaving the white plastic showing.
It's lovely to ride even though it was to and from the MOT station so far. It pulled a big wheelie when I slipped the clutch which was nice. Smile

Those are titanium disc bolts. The banjo and bleed bolts are titanium as well as the caliper bolts and axle bolt.

The stickers were a bit of a nightmare. I found the best place was http://www.cmsnl.com/ I had bought one directly from Japan and it was very expensive.
I had the forks rechromed which was £150. The bolts in the bottom were a right pain in the arse because they kept turning. I used a sash clamp in the end to compress the forks enough to tighten the bolt.
New typres, sprocket set, decoked the exhausts.
Nose fairing was repaired and sprayed.
New clocks because the original one was knackered.
It's been converted to MPH so will also go over 112mph
The bike has done 20326km but it'll now count up in miles now.
New pads, new air filter, new oil, brake fluid, New rubber chain guide.
pretty much everything has been scrubbed.
I've not looked inside the barrels at the pistons because they're fine. The engine runs really nice.

Anyway, that's it so far. I'm going to ride it on sunny days and sell it soon if anyone is interested.

I have no idea of it's value so if people would give me a guideline of price that'd be helpful.

Cheers

Rich

lovely work, but I think it really needs the decals to finish, looks too bare knowing that there's something missing, have you got the fairing decals as well, or need to find them too?

Not sure 'snitt' can do NSR stuff can he? as I'll probably need a full set too.

No one on here do them??

Snittle can make anything you want as far as I know. All he needs is the jpeg or vector to put into his software.

I might just have the sticker you need. I have a stash of OEM MC28 stickers. I'm off on holiday tomorrow but back in the New Year. PM me if you still need em.
