MC28 Drive Sprocket Lock Tab Washer

Fri Aug 02, 2013 3:15 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi All,

Was hoping someone could give me advice regarding the lock tab washer for the front drive sprocket? Seems like they are discontinued from Honda. Are there any alternatives available?

Cheers
Jim

You're better off asking in Classifieds for a used one. I can do you a new one, but by the time I have paid for Honda shipping and then posted it to you, it's extortionately priced!

I've just completed an order for Honda this morning. If I'd knows I could've tagged it on, but it's too late now I'm afraid. I've already had a shipping confirmation from them.

No worries. Thanks for the reply Andy. The one I have is still OK but I'm guessing they are only good for one or two uses. Worse comes to worse I guess I can just loctite the bolts and wire them together.

Lockwiring them certainly won't hurt, but the locking plate should last for more than one or two uses if not butchered. You don't need to use both tabs on each bolt either, which effectively doubles their life-span.

At the end of the day though, there's nothing to stop you from making your own locking plates. There's nothing special about them! Smile
