calling all derestricted MC28 owners

Tue Mar 05, 2013 12:17 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hello guys
I'm in the process of derestricting my MC28 to Hrc spec and therefore lose my Speedo reading on my LCD.
So I'm looking to see what types of Speedo replacement you guys use and recommend.
Pictures of the installed Speedo would be useful and where you bought the item from.
It'd be handy to understand what works and what doesn't etc.
Many thanks
Graham

Anyone out there run an MC28 with a replacement Speedo following derestricting etc.
I'd love to hear your ideas.

wireless speedo replacement on an MC28

Wed Mar 06, 2013 9:39 pm » Post: #4 » Download Post

I'm surprised that nobody on here has fitted a cycle type Speedo when they
Have derestricted their MC28. Just like to hear from someone who has had a similar experience
Of mounting a cycle type one and how well it worked etc

Thanks for that Les. Do you know which model it is?
Is it wired, or wireless? Backlit? Easy to read?
Fairly accurate re speed? Easy to use with gloves on?
I've heard that some stop when hit 99mph too.

Also curious to how it looks..

Ideally given the chance I'd prefer to have kept the original Speedo, but I lose the reading when HRC card route etc. So something that's neat but works well would be a bonus

Cant remember what make,(ill have a peek tomorrow),tried wired and wireless, and ended up using wired, cant remember why, think it was less techy and being an old fart i prefer that, looks fairly neat tucked in beside the tacho, havnt got the original speedo, only got daytime mot and use it just for odd trackdats now, got the pickup, cable tied to the bottom of the fork and the little magnet stuck to the disc with a blob of clear silicone.
