Doohans and Freddiie Spencers Bikes

Mon Oct 08, 2012 2:43 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

My office is around the corner from a Honda building and as I was walking past last week I saw these bikes in the showroom.

Both had non slicks on and are still runners.

Doohans bike still doesnt look dated. What a machine.........

Mick Doohan's Repsol... Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaantastic!

For me, the most awesome and unparalleled 2-stroke ever. In both looks and achievements.

Agree with you Andy. Doohans bike is the pinnacle of racing motorcycles in my opinion and is yet to be surpassed by anything. I'd give anything to be allowed to ride one.

I love all of them! Each unique in their own way.
Doohan's NSR 500, probably the best 2T race bike ever.
Freddie's 500, first 500 Honda built in the general configuration that was to last the whole life of the NSR (v4 right way up!!).
Freddie's 250, because Honda built this as the next generation special for the 85 season, it moved the goal posts in the 250 class, and Freddie told me Honda used several technical breakthroughs off this 250 in the following year's 500.

lol Andy. Sometimes I think I must be living in this alternate universe, hanging with Freddie in the pits, running the racebikes around some great tracks with him and many other GP legends. Is this actually real??? Hope it continues next year, fingers crossed.
