What is my NRS 250 R SP worth?

Sat May 19, 2012 9:43 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi!

I´m thinking about to sell my Swedishsold NSR 250 R SP 1990.

History: A hand full of bikes was imported by Honda Sweden with the full HRC race kitt as they were to be sold to racedrivers
back in the days. Yet not every NRS250 was sold so they were converted to street use with the HRC kitt and loom so that
they would be more easy to sell.

But i am not clear about the value. What can it be worth?

It has HRC addon box, HRC pipes, jets, airfilter and loom. Maybe reedvalves too but i´m not sure.
Original fairing in cabin colors in good condition. Original pipes. Street registrated too. New cylinders, heads and pistons.
It also has a set of nice RSW Tyga performance cowl set with carbon fenders and a Tyga performance set of nice pipes and carbon silencers.

Please help me to clear out the value of this bike !

Best regards /

David Furubrink

Probably about right, does it still have both magtek wheels? Front looks standard but that could be the image, lack of oil pump and bottles may reduce its value as a road bike though.

Plus your location will effect the sale as any buyer will need to consider shipping costs.

Yes , it has both magtek wheels. The oil pump and bottle is disconnected from the bike but will follow it as loose parts.

How many kilometers has it done?

It might be worth emailing some of the the specialist bike traders to see if they'd be interested in buying it, as they like to sell them on at up to £6500 for what they think are 'special' bikes.

Easiest option may simply be to advertise it online with a reserve you'd be happy to accept...

Wow, really low miles! I'd say top end then, since it has some desirable modifications, never been raced and low miles.

Your problem will be finding someone who wants to buy it, and is close enough to make it worthwhile - shipping to the UK will add a significant amount to the price of course.

I will assume the HRC loom was never fitted, since this removes the lights and indicators...

It will be worth much more with OEM bodywork and the correct gold Magteks. Try and get some new (or as good as new) standard pipes too, and the bike should fetch top money, as Dave says... as long as you're not in a particular rush to sell!

Okey, yes it has low miles but think about that it is not english miles but Swedish.
So its not that low I guess. And propably someone has been driving it on a track in the past but i´m not sure.
But no real racing for sure...

It has the HRC loom fitted from brand new, only the hondadealer had some probelm to sell the last racing NSR:s so
to make it easier they added the lights wireing to the loom so that it could be registgrated and driven on the streets.

I already have OEM bodywork, complete standard pipes and magteks. The magteks has been resprayed by someone in the past,

So you thinks that I should put on the OEM bodywork?

I`m not in a rush to sell...

Absolutely!

Cabin colours are becoming more popular now, as they are (relatively) uncommon... unless your name's johnnymac, who had two of them! I'd say they are probably now the second most sought after MC21 colour scheme.

The Magteks need to be gold though, and you need to source an OEM wiring harness, even if you wire-splice it and neatly tape up the splice. A butchered harness, and it doesn't matter how well they've spliced lights in, is going to knock hundreds, if not more, off your sale price.

Get it as standard as possible, for the highest price possible.

As Andy says, originality sells with these, so do what you can to get it as standard as possible if you want top price.

Better still, just ride and enjoy it!

Many thanks for the advises. Smile

What is top price for it then ? If I´m fitting all the OEM parts.

I will see if I´m going to sell it or not... But sertainly not to just "anybody".

I have a special bond for the NSR and they are so fun to drive.
Way more fun than any 600 sportbike of today.
