MC28 Who to send the engine to?

Sat Jan 28, 2012 11:19 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Having lunched the engine on the MC28 when a piston skirt broke off, I am looking for someone to port the barrels, match up the cases and generally do what needs to be done to get the best out of it without turning it into a grenade. Who should I send it to? I am in NY so TYGA in Thailand or someone in the UK is fine. Any suggestions/experiences both good & bad would be much appreciated! Also while I have the cases split, what else should I get done/buy/replace?
Cheers,
James

I know a guy in NC who builds RG's, he will probably be interested in working on your bike just out of curiosity.

There is a guy in California who does my Vespa work (porting, cranks, etc) he knows NSR's a bit since he has MC16, and he's a good 2 stroke tuner but he came from Cart world so not an NSR specialist.

It's a no brainer then, send it to NSR World!

I had no idea, perhaps I need to pay more attention?

Kevin Murray of MCE Racing does very good work and he's rebuilt NSR engines. He used to be miles from my house in San Diego but he is now located in Willow, CA near Thunderhill Raceway.

Drop me a PM with your requirements/wishes, and I'll get back to you.

Full range of (custom) services are available, from rebuild, to recondition, to full-race.

Some guide prices and a few of our services can be found here:

NSR-WORLD.COM Performance Services

We'll be updating the page soon, with more details and additional services. We will soon be able to offer fully reconditioned crankcases for example.
