The message was in response to cookiesol asking about a performance related question regarding the HRC flywheel.

As divice says, the flywheel is just a plug'n'play item... it uses the same connector as the OEM harness.

Flywheel

Ok it's a plug and play, bat recharge is not enough for Mc 28 battery , HRC has created it for race
There is possibility to use on MC 28 standard wire and battery ?

See my P.M

Thanks

Simple answer is no-one here really knows! As far as I'm aware, no-one of the forum has ever actually used the HRC generator as it's so damn expensive, and the gain will be marginal relative to the cost. You could save more weight by going to the toilet before going out for a ride! What you may gain is a little crisper throttle response.

Given the size of the stator, I would assume that it only really generates enough power to run the basic electrics. I don't reckon it will keep up with the discharge rate of the battery if you use lights, indicators, horn, brake lights etc.

Making a race AC generator that's capable of producing enough currant to run road electrics was probably the last thing HRC were thinking about when trying to screw as much as they could out of the MC28 for the SP class.

Just my opinion and best guess, given the information available.

Hi Kukkos,

i have use the MC28 HRC Flywheel and stator in the past to my MC28 (i have sold it now)... As Andy correct said this part was made only to produce enough current for the PGM + Coils + RC Servo Motor and stuff like that... As for the gain that you will have will be noticible only i think on the dyno... At least i didn't feel any difference vs stock set up when i rode my bike...

But most people here don't care if they have a major gain from a part but they care most if it is a genuine HRC part (i am one of them to be honest Embarassed )... This is a big true that most of the guys here have to admit...!!!

Cheers
Michael

That's because we KNOW it's faster, just because it says HRC on it. Cool

It's also going to be in this case something like a grand or so for a gain I'll bet is under 1 bhp.
