MC28 stand

Thu Mar 24, 2005 1:21 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Was there a factory option?
Anyone have one for sale?
I have 2 aftermarket jobs that are designed to fit the RC30 as well and they are just too heavy in both weight and design if you see what I mean?
I want a pukka stand more in keeping with the 28.
Any ideas?

I'm thinking something electromagnetic, so the bike appears to hang in the air above the stand.

How cool would that be? Cool

I've got napkins all over my desk with various designs of stands for both normal swingarm and proarm.

We've been doing a lot of messing around with carbon this year and I think we've found a method of manufacture to make strong and sturdy, yet light weight carbon tubes. More than good enough for paddock stands. I have a one metre length of 25mm tube here than none of us can break. it's a little bit bendy, but we've spoken to the people that know these things and were shown the light with a new two pack epoxy that goes rock hard without being brittle.

They won't be cheap, carbon never is, but if we can just add another couple of hours to every day we should be able to knock something up.

Oh, and yes there was a factory option. It's not HRC, so talk to Andy and he might be able to sort something.

He's too tight to eat in MacDonalds!

They'll be more likely to have "Happy..." printed on them... Smile

Aw jeez Matt! Shocked
You can't come here, teasing me with tales of mystical one-off carbon stands!!
WHEN you make it, the first one is mine. Really.
[Unless the mag-stand comes in first! - That would be TOO cool!! Surprised ]
