end cans

Sun Mar 27, 2005 7:33 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

i had my nsr for 6 years and often wondered why my stock pipes sounded different and louder to the stock pipes on my other 18,well today i noticed that the end cans have had the end pipes removed, then the cans have been cut down by about 50mm and the end pipes rivetted back in place,i dont know what has been removed to make them so loud. Will any of this effect the performance or the jetting? Confused

You MAY find that your cans are HRC cans Wayne. They look very similar to stock, but like you say, are riveted together.

Doncha love it when you find out that your bike has some cool trick kit on it and you didn't even realise it.

Unusally when it's just been broken and you want to replace it Sad

Do the stock pipes have pressure syphons inside the reverse diffuser a-la Allspeed / Micron / Swarbrick / Gibson etc..etc..etc.. or are they 'straight out to the can' ?
