Check out item #4537859301 claiming to be a factory v2 500cc gp bike.
Cannot say if it is for real as zero feedback. Any deep pocket collectors out there?

Until some small minded individual decided to hack into the Forums and delete everything, this was already a hot topic Crystal! Smile

I thought about arranging a little competition to see who could guess closest to the final bid price. For a small entry fee (you guys can decide!) you can take a guess, and whoever is closest (without going over the actual final price) at the end can win a set of stainless steel lines in the colour of their choice!

What do you all reckon?

I talked to the guy on the phone yesterday. Seems legit, and had some info on the bike, but not a whole lot. Bike comes with everything you see in the pics. Nothing less, nothing more.

Bike was run in the GP's by a team out of Europe. He thinks it was last run/raced in 99, or 00. Had been gone through at that time, and bought by a private collector, where is has been since.

He wasn't put off with the price that I would be willing to pay for one, so will have to watch it and see where it goes. Maybe make a last minute bid on it, if the price doesn't go that crazy.

I bet I could top the poser list with that one Smile

Thanks,

I beleive the person running the auction moved it, and made some changes (as he made a mistake when he originally listed it).

I think it's more like he messed up, and relisted it, thinking he was moving it.

Sent him a message letting him know he shoudl take one or the other listing down.

Charles G,

If you really want it, I hope you win it (and can afford it). I take it that it is totally a race bike & even though it says "clear title," it doesn't have a street title & you could add lights & hang out at the Burger King.

So, if you won, what would you do with it? Just keep it as a collector item?
Use it for trackdays? I don't suppose there is a class of racing you could
enter it in anymore... I imagine a bike like that is a bit of a monster that you would have to be an excellent rider to handle it. I will be happy just to get my little MC18 on the road.

Oh, Andy, the contest with ss brake lines, sure I'd do it for fun! Why would a hacker bother to come onto this forum & erase a subject?

Cheers!

Bike is totally legal for F-I and Open GP with the club I race in. Also, if I could get it to match R1's and GSXR1000's I could race it in the Formula Pacific championship with my club.

And HELL YE, I would RACE IT! I dont think a bike like that should be a bike sitting in storage. It was meant to race, and it's not like its a championship winning bike. Now Doohans bike I would setup in my living room (okay, I'd probably ride that as well Smile ).

Thanks,

You should still be able to get them from Honda believe it or not Dave.

Jha also do 500 stuff, including barrels. I doubt all the supplies that would have been produced during the 500V's life will have dried up already.
