Fire shooting out of exhaust :O

Tue Mar 08, 2005 6:48 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

hey guys,
i started my bike this afternoon (full choke, had already been run 50kms in the morning) and it was a bit quieter than usual, and then bang Shocked , a flame about 10cms shoots out of the right can. but after that it ran as normal (moderately smokey for a few minutes then hardly any smoke), so i was wondering if u could tell me if i should be worried?

the motor is stock with a daytona filter, kiss d-r box and has race exhaust chambers/cans (cant spot any branding on them but they are freaking loud, the right chamber touches the fairing, they have springs holding them to the cylinders and are connected to one another below the rear susp spring, sound familiar to anyone?)

ok thanks Smile
Tim

Cool, if you can recreate it then let me know, I'd love to have that effect going on.

No problem. Just get yourself a sticking float or carb full of s***. When it ignites all the unburnt fuel "Hey Presto". A bang complete with flame!!!
With the possibility of literally blowing the carbs off or blowing your crank seals it would not be an effect I would be seeking on my 2 strokes. Shocked

The same thing happened to a friends MC21 while I was following him... Then it seized about 5 miles later! Shocked

From your pipe description I would hazard a guess at Big Fight pipes.

Whizz bang pop.
