Can anyone tell me why my new tyga right hand exhaust chamber touches the swingarm when on its side stand.I have tried everything to get 2-3mm clearance but no joy.When I sit on the bike I get enough clearance .Is this common?Any advice appreciated.

Mine used to touch alittle but in the end i managed to jiggle things enought to get around 5mm clearance. I also fitted rear mounts for the cans as my chambers cracked, this also helped to hold the pipes out alittle. Hope that helps.

From experience, if you are running an aftermarket shock that increases ride height, that will make the chamber rub against the swingarm. Regardless, you can try grinding about 1 mm off the back side of rubber mounted insert in the frame (where the bolt mounts the chamber to the frame). This will push the chamber outboard a bit and give more clearance. Got this directly from Paul at Tyga. Hope that helps.

i have about 5 mm clearance on mine like steven said it did take a bit of jiggling when i fitted my aftermarket shock the clearance remained the same

Thanks for the advice.I have fitted an Ohlins rear shock so this is why I may have the problem.I cannot wait for it to be finished!!

Nigel, is your aftemarket shock set to increase ride height? When I had mine dialed up, the chambers were jammed against the swingarm pretty tight unless I sat on the bike, and when I dialed the shock length down to the same or just slightly longer than stock, I had okay (2mm) clearance. Wondering if it is worth further "jiggling" because I'd like to get some of that ride height back without grinding any parts the way Paul suggested or flattening the chambers. Cheers.

my shock is set to the length of the standard unit at present
havnt really had much chance to set it up properly yet
hope i dont run into these problems when i do

had a bit of a fiddle today i raised the rideheight about 5mm before the chambers came close to hitting anything cant imagine i am going to need to raise it that much

Yes, that sounds about right - I think 5mm longer is about where I ended up and still have a bit of clearance - ran into trouble when I tried to go 10-12mm longer in the rear, as I recall. Decided the extra bit was not worth grinding and such, especially, as you say, when the additional ride height is not really necessary.
