What dual EGT - Koso?

Tue Feb 22, 2011 12:33 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi

The 300 is finished and it getting a run in and dyno this weekend. Big thank you to Matt for answering my questions (does he ever sleep??!!)

I am in the market for a dual EGT. There seem to be better and cheaper units than the old HRC ones. I have used Mychron once before, but I need a dual EGT and nothing else. What is the general recommendation. Who has tried Koso - they appear to be a reasonable unit.

cheers

Simon

I have ancient looking anologue dual EGT's purchased from aircraftspruce in the US. Work fine. I like this style as I'm an old git so I can see red needles easier than any fancy digital rubbish.

Oh, and concerning sleep, I'll be dead one day (for a long time) so I can get all the sleep I want then. Life's short enough so no time to waste!

Ask Phil, he has one on his 300 and swears by it.

Yip I'm using a Koso dual EGT (quick response probes)

No problems at all. I haven't tried anything else by the way.
It has defiantly helped me learn how the motor is running, and most defiantly saved me blowing it up again. Not to mention it's an essential tool for a two stroke tuner.

My city looks like an A bomb hit! I'm sure you've all seen it on the news.

I've been using a dual EGT from WESTACH. Can't remember where I got mine but I know they're often available on e-bay (in the states). http://www.westach.com/gauge_images/2DA2.jpg

Scary photo of NZ. Looks similar to the Easter earthquake in Mexico/San Diego. Photos showed dust rising from the tops of mountains and ridges. Thoughts to all those that didn't survive.

Lots of amazing stories of survival too.
