PGMIV/Powervalves

Thu Feb 24, 2011 3:28 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I bought my MC28 a few weeks back and its been at the garage for the last week being serviced. Today they told me the PGMIV is knackered, something to do with the powervalves.

Having done a bit of research it seems they get stuck occasionally through lack of maintenance and burn out some resistors (sometimes melting PCB's) so it looks like this is what has happened.

Whats the best way to get this repaired? I've seen the thread about PGMIV repair/programming but as I only signed up for Carbon membership today I'm waiting approval and not able to view the supporting members section.

Would really like to get this fixed soon as I heard the bike running for the first time today and I almost wet myself.

You'd better wait 'till the bike is in full working order prior blaming the PGM unit.
In case you do have problems with the rc valve section, the digital speedometer will display "Error 2" on the panel.

Congrats for your new bike.
Nick

The RC valve servo is working fine, the mechanic tested it seperately and it moves freely when power is applied. However, when hooked up to the PGM the valves don't open.

The RC valve cables look like they have not be looked after at all, dirty and kinked, they have almost certainly stuck and burnt the PGM out.

Make shore you buy new cables and remove the rc valves and clean them so they move freely .

Already done my man Wink

Ordered new cables last night and the mechanic serviced the valves earlier this week.

I'm hoping I can get Moriwaki Man to repair the PGM.

I don't mind waiting, I have a little project on my hands but hearing the bike running has made me more eager to ride the thing.

You can't use the "S" word here!!!

Apparently it's worse than the "C" word.

Will ask him.

Hopefully they didn't rip him off? I've just spent about $2000 with them.
