For removal use zip ties to hold the spring in the compressed state before loosening the locking collars.

For installation you will need to compress it with a threaded rod down the center and a metal plate on either end. Then use the zip tie method to hold it compressed for reinstallation on shock body.

Very Happy

Once i've compressed the spring what do i move/remove to allow the spring to come off?
I cant see anything on the shock that looks like it releases the spring fom the body.
Maybe i'm being dull?

upon examination of my shock the preload adjustment locking nuts will not thread off the end of the body of the shock to release the spring. No, your not dull. I am. Must be the other end. Must have something to do with the two little plastic thingys. Try this: compress the spring with the preload nuts. Zip tie it compressed. Release the preload nuts. Then work at the plastis thingys.

Anyone else have this knowledge?

From the look of it i'm gonna have to compress it and try and unscrew the bottom end of the shock from the shaft. Once i've released it(or if) i'll have to cut a slot in the solid disc that goes on the bottom of the coil making it easier to re assemble. Doesn't seem as easy to take apart like the cbr shock i've got on there.the disc is alredy in two pieces.
If the shock bottom won't unscrew from the shaft, it's dremel time! Lol

Well i managed to get it apart without the dremel,
Compressed the spring, then undid the lock nut on the bottom mount and unscrewed the lower mount from the shaft.
Took a bit of effort as it had been on there 20yrs and was held on with locking fluid.
Coils now at the powdercoaters. Very Happy
