MC28 Carb Strip

Sat Feb 12, 2011 4:22 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

I am trying to remove the carbs in order to bore them. They are all apart with the exception of the mainjet holder/emulsion tube. Does anyone know how to remove this (without damaging it) in order to bore the carbs Any tips? There does not appear to be an easy way to drive it out from under the carb... Crikey these carbs are certainly not as user friendly as PJ38s!

This is the final stage of the 300 build.. I think Laughing

cheers

Really? you don't know how they come out? Once the atomizer is unscrewed, the top part of the atomizer just about falls out.

Yep, done that but the top is quite stuck in and stubborn. There doesnt appear to a way to push it out, so I will soak them overnight and then apply a little heat. The alloy body will expand more than the brass centre. Fingers crossed!

Try a plastic or rubber rod of some sort through the throat to press down on it (up on it actually, turn the carb upside down), hold it between you legs and gently tap the carb with gentle tapping device.
