MC28's - Loads of Questions

Sun Mar 17, 2013 10:08 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Sorry folk but i have practically spend all day this Sunday mooching about tinternet for an NSR and it has begged more questions than it answered.

Can somebody explain the mysterious HRC 010, 020 and 030 cards and why they are so difficult to de restrict ... Surely an engine is an engine so we are talking about the ECU specifically.

So why cant a loom and ecu off say an mc21 not work wonders or an i simplyfying this too much ....

A loom off an mc21 is by far the cheapest easiest solution...better still find a hrc box for a 21 to go with it, alternatively you could send your pgm and card away via moriwaki man and have it reprogrammed to the hrc map.

030 spec is what you would want for a road bike as its set for unleaded, you will also have to cut the loom which turns the speedo into a big temp gauge. The biggest restriction in the 28 is the exhausts...so they need changing as well even with the mc21 pgm.

Even cheaper option if you want to go fast is buy an r1! Smile, the 28 is a capable bike on the road with just an aftermarket pipes and an mc21 will add a bit extra, an mc21 will be easier to make quicker and cheaper but its really horses for courses as far as I am concerned.

No doubt I have opened a can of worms mentioning the mc21 Wink

They're not difficult to derestrict, they are expensive to derestrict.
