Torque settings for NSR500V rear axle

Wed Oct 17, 2012 6:50 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Would anyone happen to know or know where i might find the torque settings for the centre nut and hub nut for a 2000 NSR500V, parts 18 and 19 here http://redline-ci.com/part_books/Honda/0500nsr500v/2000/3_part_pages/f_07.asp

Im also after the 42mm pin lock, part 24 which is discontinued. Are there any alternatives available?

280N.m for the wheel nut, 240N.m for the sprocket carrier nut.

I have one lock pin but I could of sold it ten times over so I think its worth hanging onto.

After finding and reading the setup manual im doubting myself that i have the right axle now, looks the same although the sprocket carrier nut isnt the same.

Is the 500V axle ally?

No, that's not a 500V axle.

I'd say early A kit for an RS250. Would I use an alloy axle? Maybe but not for long.

I have one of those axles for my NX5 RS250 which I'm pretty sure came from an RC45.
It is made from steel and does look a bit different to your axle.

For info below are the parts I bought from Spiral Spinner in Japan for my axle.

Right hand side RC45 aluminium rear wheel nut M46 x 1.5mm pitch large aluminium left hand thread (red only) @ 12,600 yen
Tachyon part number 5100-TW4B-000

Left hand side RC45 titanium axle nut M38 x 1.5 x T10 @ 29,000 yen
Tachyon part number 59040-RC45-000

Large R clips to suit the wheel side of the RC45 HRC axle @ 3500 yen.
Tachyon part number 52200-RC30-000

Hope this helps.

Yours does look like an RC45 kit item Innes. It has a much shorter threaded section and doesn't have the large shoulder.

If it helps identify it i know it fits up to a NC30, all it needed was an inner bearing sleeve to fit the NC hub bearing. Sprocket hub, disc, caliper, wheel (with the correct spacer) all fit fine. Im not sure exactly what but i know the RS250 axles fit although there not a straight forward fit on the NC's.
