hi guys, im new to the forum here and i have to say its pretty dam impressive. its nice to see that the 2 stroke still holds some importance to people and that there is a forum dedicated to the best one ever built. the nsr. ive just bought myself a mc16 which ran but rough. ive cleaned the carbs and changed the plugs and it runs much better now Very Happy . my problem is that the power valve cables on the pulleys were mega slack and one of them wasnt even in the holder Shocked . im going to set the power valve back as it should be but my problem is finding the tps. does the mc16 have one? i fail to see it. any info would be great. once again i congratulate you on an awesome site. thanks

No TPS on the MC16. That was introduced with the MC18.

The MC16 doesn't have a TPS.

To set the valves, run the motor to between 2000rpm and 3000rpm, and the valves will move to the "Hi" position. Switch the motor off (while in the 2~3000rpm range), and either align the marks by eye, or use dowels to align the holes.

Make sure there is a little slack in the cables, as if they are tight it can burn out the RC Valve servo and/or the RC controller. (At least the MC16 has a separate controller.)

While the cables are loose, check the Valves move freely by hand. If they are tight, this too can burn out the above components. Plenty of threads on here about removal, cleaning, and reassembly of them. Seals and E-clips are universal amongst NSR's, but the MC16 valve flaps themselves differ to the other models significantly.
