How many 1996 Repsol MC28sp NSR's have survived?

Just a thought..... If only a thousand were built, just how many are still out there?

If you have one, what number is it?

What mods have you done?

Mine is number 222 and I have:

Harc-pro pipes
Tyga reed blocks and stuffers
Mod airbox
Billet tripple clamp
Braided brake lines
Coerce rearsets
Rimtapes
Tyga carbon dash

Also, do you know of any that are sadly no longer with us?

If enough people are interested (maybe I'm a freak!) I'll start a register...

How do you figure out what number you have? Does this also apply to Rothman's bikes?

I'm not sure about the Rothmans NSR but my Repsol has a plate attached at the front right-hand side of the frame near the headset that reads ' REPSOL EDITION No.222'. at least that's what I remember it saying. I'll take a pic and post it tomorrow.

Also, my chassis number ends in 222.

if you look at apexxn photo , he supplied the sku sticker that supports the authenticity of the bike , I have #143 and it didnt come with a frame plate I think that was just done by someone trying to "authenticate" his bike

That rear fender decal is nice. I've never seen one that survived until this one.

Thanks to apexxn for posting the photos for me.

So, I've done some more reasearch and it seems that the plate was added from new but not by Honda.

I have been speakinfg to an old Japanese guy who used to own a Honda shop in Japan in the 80's and 90's and sold MC22, NC30/35, MC18/21/28 from new (how cool is that!) and he said one shop (that he can't remember the name of) added the plates and sold them with an HRC Repsol Jacket and some hrc stickers etc etc in an effort to exaggerate the exclusivity of the bikes.

The other dealers thought that they were dicks.......haha!

Anywho, the rear fender decal is real and I am going to protect it with clear plastic.

I am still going to enjoy the Repsol plate and the oooohs and aaaahs it gets from those that don't know that it is a fake!

That will be cloned the world over now Shocked

You find loads of bikes in the US have the same sort of decal on them especially from the early 80's onwards.

Me mate used to bring them back and everyone would laugh !! Still a KZ1000 just with more pap on it !!

" #012 of only 100 made in the world "

What they forget to say; that's because it was for that state only Laughing

Anyhoo, your VIN and factory clearing tag match so you know your bike is true.
