NC35 Front end conversion help

Mon Sep 01, 2008 1:40 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hello all. I'm in the middle of a front end conversion. NC35 front end to an MC28 SE. I had the MC28 stem pressed onto the 35 triples and have begun to swap. I m having trouble w/ the triples fitting on the frame properly. After mounting the triples and now onto the forks there seems to be play in between the triples and the frame. Any ideas as to what could be the problem? I tried checking the parts manual to be sure that I mounted the parts correctly however I am not on a p.c. and cannot properly see the diagram. Any ideas as to why it's not seating properly? Any help would be appreciated. It is a holiday here in the US and I would like to get alot of the conversion done today.
Thanks to all.

Jose

Hi Jose,

I have an NC35 front end on my MC21 and can only think that the problem must lie either with the bearings or the fitting of the stem. I assume that you have fitted new bearings. Are they the correct ones? It's a tricky one to call without having a first hand look.

Mike.

Bearings seem to be in good shape but will check again. I already have the front almost all off. The bearings were my first guess but I thought maybe there was something else I missed. I'll let you know then outcome. Thanks
