Hey, just looking for some information about dry clutches. I dont know an awful lot about them and was wondering if they are supposed to make that scraping sound when the clutch lever is pulled in. I looked for some info on the net but couldnt find much of an explanation about them. Also, what is the difference between dry and wet? and which is better / prefered? _________________ Princey37
Yes you get a few funny looks at the traffic lights with the dry clutch rattling away. But it makes me feel like i'm on a proper race bike.
Dry clutches come from no compromise race bikes. I love the ease of stripping them out to work on (no oil to worry about).
Hands up all of us who pull the clutch lever in a LONG time before the light change, or even flick the lever in and out while it's in neutral at the lights, just for the hell of it! _________________ Andy.

Squires Bike Cafe in Leeds has a long car park. One time I pulled in and coasted all the way down it with the clutch in. Loads of people around. Just got parked up and a guy came over saying 'great bike - sounds very rough though' _________________ Rich

I get told I need a rebuild as the piston slap is out of control.
My MRS HATES IT !! . She once asked 'Why cant your bike sound like that' (pointing at a CRB600) My death stare and lack of responce told her never to make that comment again. _________________ Winning isn't everything, but loosing isn't anything
i rode my mates new r1 last week and was sat at some lights missing the clutch rattle the bike made up for it when i thrashed it though but didnt want to make me sell the sp _________________ ive seen more tarts than mr kipling
It was one of only two saving graces of the 748 I was lent a few years ago... the rattly clutch and the fact it was just like sitting on an NSR due to the size of it and look/feel of all the Honda controls/instruments!
I'd have a 748/916 just to look at, but that's all! Maybe better off with a Mito instead! _________________ Andy.
