other crazy thought

Anyone know how to make a tz250 run street legal. without total loss lighting? A friend of mine in west palm has a few he raced. Hear he might wanna sell one. By the way, He and his business partner both bought NSR500Vs....the real ones, the ones honda made for racing. I think one was sold, but the other...wow. It would be great to own. I'm thinking it would be about 60 thousand USD or so....I can dream!? Cliff

I think you'll have a helluva job to be honest, as there's no alternator is there?

You'll have to get all creative and build one with a piggy back unit driven from the front sprocket...

With back-up solar panels for when you're sat at trafic lights. Oh, hang on, that won't work in the dark will it?

Bicycle magneto's running against the tyres?

I'd be more inclined to get an RS street legal. I've heard on the grapevine that a lighting kit is even available for them in the UK now!

TZ street bike not worth it

Wed Dec 08, 2004 3:08 pm » Post: #7 » Download Post

i looked into this for a bit B4 i decided that NSR 250s were the best 250 for the street. Really your only non total loss system is to put in a TZR motor and charging assembly. maybe good for 70 hp at best with some good tuners..?

do you really wanna ride a TZ on the street? race gas, rebuilds every few rides... hmm those clutches are terrible for take offs at a race... i cant imagine stop and go traffic with one.. probably need new plates after every few rides too... super peaky power with no torque or mid power..

sounds good initially but once you look into it, its really not such a good plan. http://www.tz250racing.com/ is a good place to get more info
there is a guy who made a total loss tz 250 for the street there...
