GPS Splice

How come HRC does not use the GPS wire splice on the HRC harness/delimiter for an MC21?

How come HRC don't tell you what's inside the HRC box?

There's some things they want you to know, and some stuff they don't want you to know.

SO what happens if you only cut the wires and don't attach them back to the 3rd gear wire?

I built a thing so that I could run PGMs on the bench. This way I could measure ignition timing and compare different PGMs II, III, IV, F3 etc. Could also make reasonably accurate notes on RC valve timing, TPS and GPS relationships, the white wire snip (eh Steve!?) etc etc. All good fun.

The difference between PGMIII 'unspliced' and F3 is remarkable, whereas the difference between F3 and RS NF5 is, well, almost unmeasurable.

Also very interesting to actually be able to see a marked difference between NH3 coils with shorty plugs and KV3 coils with BR9ECMs.

Maybe one day we should join up and write a book Steve Razz

The question is what will the book be about? Very Happy

As for the white wire, as you know it depends on what PGM your using. With more than 5 types of PGM-III plus the F3 one(s) I think the white wire is the least of anyones troubles lol

No idea, but we should write one anyway.

Hmmm.

Thank goodness that the PGM IV only really has two cards worth bothering with these days. The 010 and the 030. Oh sorry, that should be three 'cos there's the 525 for that real factory feel.

In addition to the 525 card I also saw somebody mentioning an 000 card. Truth or fiction Matt.....I think the public should be told.

Yes there once was an 000 card, but it was discontinued when nobody wanted one!

I've only seen a couple of 525's and they both came from HRC supported NSR's. Those buggers obviously keeping the proper stuff for themselves again.

Now its getting interesting! So what is NF5 and NH3? I've seen these numbers before but don't really know what they mean?

NF5 is the HRC code for the ~92 RS250.

NH3 is the HRC code for the NSR250 Formula 3. An example would be that all NSR250 engines are stamped MC16, whereas the F3 HRC engines are stamped NH3. Which basically means it's a very special part, with lots of equally special parts inside.

StephenRC45 will turn his nose up at most boring KV3 (standard NSR250) parts, but show him anything with NH3 on it and he goes wobbly at the knees Very Happy

Oh by the way Steve, when I got home last night I found another NH3 water pump cover Wink

Most of the NH3 parts are heavily based on the NF5 parts, and because of this a good F3 engine will make very similar horse power to a (same era) RS250. Maybe just a couple of horse shy becuase of a couple of design flaws that HRC kept in the NSR engine to stop it beating the RS. That's my opinion.

To wrap up, NH3 stuff for the NSR is as good as it gets. Well, from HRC anyway. It's good, but it could be better Twisted Evil

Not all F3 engines are marked up with an F3 number as we discussed though Matt so anything goes really, you need to know what youre looking for Wink
