HRC derestrictor box

HRC derestrictor box and loom.
will this still run the lights? if it doesn't I have read the thread where it can be hardwired into the stock loom.
it says it advances the timing, do I need to run high octane fuel?
will it still run the oil pump?

HRC derestrictor box and loom (presumably you mean part #30490-NKD-840 for the mc21 and the HRC loom)

Will this still run the lights? Not with the HRC loom no.

If it doesn't I have read the thread where it can be hardwired into the stock loom. Yes it can be, no I don't know how, Monkey's works fine

It says it advances the timing, do I need to run high octane fuel? No, but detonation is obviously more likely, check the jetting.

Will it still run the oil pump? Yes, it can.

I have one too, and wiring it in is simple. It sits in-line with the stock wiring, and you simply have to mate the plugs on the HRC box to those on the stock loom.

I removed the HRC plugs on the input side, crimped new pins on and inserted them into the stock loom, then filled the voids between them with silicone sealant (it's a standard aircraft 'battle damage repair' technique and works perfectly well).

The output plug connects into the PGM unit as per the normal loom.

I went to the local salvage yard and found the exact same plugs from a late model Civic and wired everything up. I can now take the HRC box off in seconds and return it to stock and vice versa.

thanks for the info.
I just won one off ebay which comes with the loom.
It's goign to be for the street so I'm going to have to somehow wire it into the stock harness. I guess I'll have to ask for more info when the time comes.

got my HRC box and loom but....

Thu Jun 01, 2006 11:57 pm » Post: #6 » Download Post

I got the HRC box (NKD-8400) and the loom 32100-nkd-8401.
my problem is I was told this is the HRC loom but the plugs going to the pgm box are the same as the stock loom. I thought it would just plug straight into the HRC box. you I never thought I would need to mate the wires together even on the HRC loom. anyone know if I have a genuine HRC loom or if it's just a modified stock loom?
