Suspension front and rear

Wed Jul 07, 2004 11:56 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

My race bike is almost ready.I have finally re-built the motor new cylinders pistons etc and full HRC eletrics.HRC/JHA carb kit and second hand steel Ethos chambers I think.Only had a short test session and the motor feels great, have dropped the rear sprocket 2 teeth to 38 front as standard.Front now lifts on acceleration no clutch but I now need to sort out the handling. The rear shock is an mc 21 sp shock and it needs a service thats not a problem, the prob is I think the bike is undersprung so some new springs are needed(the front forks are mc 21 sp as well)I have had a look at the race tech site but it looks like their bits are for the mc28 now has anyone used these parts are the springs front and rear compatible or do I need to strip the bike down and measure these items then order on the sizes?Tricky I know but any help would greatly help.(might go the whole hog and get the internals as well).

Try ringing the guys, as they may know the answers off the top of their head. After all, a certain weight of bike plus rider myust need the same weight spring no matter what the bike actually is.

spring sizes

Thanks Dave but what I wanted was if anyone out there had done similar or same.I've already calculated my spring rates it's more spring sizes length and diameter plus will their internals fit an MC 21 sp set up or are the MC 28 bits totally different(their lists are only for 96 model)so I was trying to get some feedback before I contacted them. Thanks for the reply.
