In fairness, the Japanese often seem to under-sell items, although there were a couple of sellers a few years ago that used to rattle-can everything with silver paint to make it look in great condition. Thankfully I was only stung on a relatively cheap part, but never considered one of their listings ever again!
That is true, I usually buy junk electronics here and usually it's just that they couldn't be bothered to test or service them.
Way out of my budget, I barely scraped together the cash to buy the bike in the OP xD. Can't say that there are many original MC16 bits remaining after I'm done either lol
I hate people breaking good bikes for parts! That's hardly unsalvageable.
The listing (poor translation?) says no motor, but maybe it means seized or non-running, as it's clearly there in the photos. No NSR project is ever going to be cheap these days, but that looks like an ideal candidate for a recommission/restoration. _________________ Andy.

I'm kinda split on people breaking bikes down for parts. It hurts to see good bikes broken apart, but at the same time, I can get most parts for my Aprilia RS50 even cheaper here than I could in Europe because nobody has any idea how to service those Italian bikes here.

I was thinking spookey could transfer the parts from his current project bike and apply it to this one as part of his plan...but you're right, it's going in the wrong direction since this is mostly whole. _________________ 2016 Husqvarna 701SM

OEM parts-wise, I think that I got most of the stuff that I need. I still need to get an MC22 rear wheel, some fairings, and figure out what I will do with the tail (I still want to install an MC18 r2j tail on it). There is an MC16 tail that has been listed for a while on upgarage, but I still want to do something custom.
The rest of it is getting custom stuff made on the lathe and aftermarket parts. I already have rigged up the complete front end (MC22 wheel, GSX-R1000 forks and axle, R1 tripples, and dual 320mm Yamaha discs) with some 3d printed spacers and adapters, now I need to get them made from aluminium. After that, get some seals altered on the lathe to seal the top of the head bearings. The rest is aftermarket stuff like brake master, brake lines, rearsets, etc
Got the tank, and wow, that thing is rusty. This is just what I could shake out of it, but it looks like there is only one hole where rust went through the tank. Does anyone have a picture of how the inlet is supposed to look since mine is bent?
