FS: MC21 in California $8200

MC21 SE with R forks, stock with a Posh-Firm delimiter. Current California registration. This is not an OEM pristine bike but it is mechanically sound and sorted. Has almost 25,000 kms but its going up as I’m still riding it. Has brand new aftermarket bodywork and windscreen and a freshly painted tank (decent quality).

It sat for a few years as I was working on other projects. I’ve done a lot of maintenance to get it in good running condition. I have installed the following new items: air filter, spark plugs (NGK BR9ECM), SamCo radiator hoses, fuel line, petcock and filter, battery, DID ERV3 chain, brake pads (EBC). Also done: cleaned exhaust valves and installed new base gaskets (1.0mm squish clearance), cleaned and greased aftermarket needle bearings in headstock, all new fluids including 12.5wt fork oil. The rear brake caliper was seized so I replaced the rear caliper, line, MC and reservoir with components from a Daytona 675. All brake caliper pistons were cleaned.

Upper cylinder has 145psi compression, lower cylinder has 140psi. Leakdown between cylinders is good. In the link below, there is a photo of the lower piston face.

Oil pump seal failed while sitting. I’ve removed it and am currently running premix. Oil pump, reservoirs, hoses, and 2 new oil pump seals will come with the bike. Jetting is now 40SJ and 140MJ on upper cylinder and 38SJ and 135MJ on lower. Initial jetting was 38SJ and 130MJ on both cylinders.

There is a bit of frame damage I didn’t notice until long after I bought it. A bit of the frame is broken off at the kickstand mounting point. Doesn’t cause any problems and the steering stops are in good shape. Guessing a previous owner rode away with the kickstand down and went down on the left side of the bike.

Comes with a clean California title, set of rough Rothmans bodywork, OEM turn signals, extra air filter, and a few other bits. Located in Carlsbad, California.
