Mon Jul 15, 2019 4:36 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I have sent my cards off to Japan to be coded to my PGM. While they are away i was going to do the Wire Splice. I know how to do it and everything but i just need to know will can standard card still work with the splice done. Will it give me the speedo. Does anybody know? Thanks

Old question, and I guess you've found out by now!
But for others, yes, the splice just removes the circuits the HRC card doesn't like, i.e. thd oil light, the sidestand switch and the neutral switch.
The speedo will be fine. The oil liight will not work, the neutral light will not work and the bike will run in gear with the sidestand down.

As Fontyyy says, the simple answer is yes.

The more involved answer is yes, but don't expect to simply be able to swap between STD and HRC cards. The setup for each varies dramatically, especially if expansion chambers & pod filters etc., and an HRC jet kit are fitted.

Unlike the R5/6K and MC21, the MC28 wiresplice alone has absolutely no effect on performance, so is only done in conjunction with other modifications.

At best, an MC28 with a wire splice, set up for an HRC card/pipes/jet kit, and started with an STD card will run like crap, at worst it could be the end of your motor.
