Maybe try running through the Electrex fault finding guide in the Workshop on the main site?

Early 90s Honda reg/recs have been known to be a weak point.

Could be the generator windings. It might be worth checking the resistance of each phase

You must use the model with built in cooling fins. The original does get very hot and especially if not connected well with the chassis

Where is the Regulator/Rectifier MC21

Sun Sep 30, 2018 7:06 am » Post: #6 » Download Post

Hi All,

Sorry for the dumb question but I'm pretty sure I need to put a new regulator in my MC21 but I can't seem to find where it is? is it under the seat with the PGM unit or somewhere else??

Thanks

You'll be able identify it from this diagram. On mc18 it's on the left side of the sub frame near the battery
