My Mc16 Rothmans GP bike look a like

Wed May 03, 2017 4:56 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hello to you all

This my project a 1987 MC16 turn into a Rothmans GP look alike.
I bought the mc16 in three boxes , it was lying about 15years in a shed .
And now its running again, i replaced the swing arm, it,s the swingarm of a szr660 ,front fork zx6r with radial brakes, radiator R6,cbr 600 wheels, tyre size in the front 120 and back 160
Replaced the pistons, one barrel was wrecked, and i found a new one in England, the crankshaftseal looks in good condition its running normally.
I replaced the left muffler to the right side for the Gp looks
I hope next year or earlier its ready but we see.

Looks very impressive, those s/arms look nice, almost identical to a 3xv one.

Hello
A little update from my mc16 Rothmans GP look a like,The tyres fitted and 160 tyre looks great, the brakes are working and the footpegs installed.
The backside was to low, fore that i made a lengthening from 30mm for the shockabsorber, and now it looks far better.
The silencers bracket was made from alu, thats ready so the silencers are fitted, and in my opinion it looks great.
The chain is orderd, when its placed i can make my first runs on the street to tune the carbs and the after may
be 15 years or longer there is a Nsr saved for the future.
And after the vacation its time to order the nsr500 fairing and make it fit.
And now some pictures.

Hello everyone

It,s not a big update but very important for me, and maybe for you interesting.
My powervalve controller was not working, first i did all the fault isolations but no progress at all, no movement from the servomotor.
I removed the plastic housing and found some loose soldering repair it, but not F....k!
Then tryed it again no movement, but the Diode in front of the servomotor regulator was bloody hot and the soldering came loose again, and the regulator STA 434A became hot to,make a long story short i orderd an new STA434A replaced it and
my powervalve controller is working again.

After my first ride , The powervalve was working fine but sometimes one cillinder was not working i thougt a fuel problem but not, after troubleshooting, my ignition box had a problem the connector had sometimes no connection no wiring problem but inside the ignition box .
I removed the hard plastic case, removed it with a dremel with great caution, cleaned it and found five loose soldering, repaired it and its working.
Its running on two cillinders.
