Best aftermarket windscreen for MC18's?

Wed Oct 18, 2017 2:20 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I have been looking for a NOS windscreen for a MC18 for a long time with no luck. I guess I'd settle on an aftermarket one at this point. I don't see a lot of those floating around either. Anybody have an idea where to get one where the holes actually line up with the fairing and look similar to NOS?
Thanks

Might be worth dropping Tyga an email. They have a screen for an mc16, which might be the same fitting.

As long as you can find one that completely intact, you can get rid of the yellowing, haziness, and scratches and bring it back to excellent shape with these 3M kits for removing headlight lens scratches--basically you use a drill and go from 500 grit pads to 800 to 3000, and then finish with a buffing pad and compound.

It may take an hour or two, but it works great. I have a couple r5k/6k screens stashed. I've also saved the original screen on my '91 ZXR750R that way.

ZXR750R windscreen saved. Also used a similar process plus a heat gun to save the rear fender.

Unfortunately I have not even been able to local a hat windscreen. All the ones I've found have been full of cracks. I ordered one from Skidmarx last week. My bike is a R6K, would love to get a screen from you if you could spare one.
