Forks identification

maxhouse » Fri Jan 01, 2016 9:03 pm

Hi and Happy New Year to you all.

I have a bit a predicament with my fork set up and would really appreciate some help of you can.

I am midway through a rebuild of an MC21 and have just rebuilt the forks (all seals, bushes, bolts, compression washers, fluid etc) and re-fitted them to the bike.

I used the dreamgate step by step overhaul (http://www.dreamgate.ne.jp/NSR/technical/mc28SE_forks.html) which is specific to the MC28 forks, but all steps and parts seemed the same for the forks i have in my MC21.

It was only when i came to fit my spangly new Tyga RSW style front fender that i realised i do not have the same forks, as my fork bottoms do not have the lugs for the fender.

After a bit of additional research it seems all NSR 250 forks should have the lugs - MC16, MC18, MC21 & MC28 - so i am stumped as to what they are from.

Please see the pics below of the fork bottoms, the forks tops/caps with the adjusters and also the fender mounts and fender.

I would really appreciate if anyone can help me identify what these forks and the fender set up are from? I assume a Honda, but am now not sure at all.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Max
