I have a set of "race" pipes made to stock dimensions, and the work very well! They don't give the over-rev of true race pipes, but do retain all the bottom-end and mid-range, as you would expect.

Basically, they're pretty much standard pipes that weigh 1/3 of stockers! They do perform a little better though, as there's no silly double-skin or perforated noise reduction sections inside.
