DON'T YOU DARE START APOLOGISING FOR ANYTHING!!! Laughing

The 0.6mm gasket won't prevent detonation, but will help prevent detonation. If you are really worried because you can only get crap fuel, run an "R" head on the "SP" barrel and this will give you minimum compression, and an HRC 0.6mm base gasket to really go low, but then you start defeating the object of the conversion... unless you just want to look trick!!

Otherwise I would recommend an SP head/barrel combination and a 0.6mm gasket to help prevent detonation. You should still use the highest octane fuel you can get your hands on though.
