If it doesn't escape in 5 minutes then I call the leakdown test successful.
Sorry, no offense but I couldn't resist.
I reckon you will only be able to diagnose major air leaks on side oil seals with this method.
Use a syringe with a flexible hose at the end as already mentioned ...and lots of rags.
Aforementioned parts will be helpful for brake bleeding as well.
