Any interest in this?

mexbiker » Fri Oct 15, 2010 8:58 pm

Hi there - please excuse this unsolicited approach. I am a keen motorbike collector, a British expat based in Mexico. In the course of my dealings I have come across a gentleman in Mexico who is a former bike racer and his son is a current racer. This guy, now in his 70's, is clearing out his workshop and knowing that I collect old bikes, has offered me what would appear to be an NSR250 that has been languishing in his workshop for some considerable while.

I have not seen the bike and have no vested financial interest, but given thefavours that the vendor has done for me in the past (he sold me a '69 Triumph TR6C), I said that I would try and help him out, seeing if there was interest amongst the NSR250 followers. I understand that what is shown in the photos is what there is and I have no idea whether the engine turns over - I have more than enough projects and two strokes are not my forte!!! According to the information that the vendor has sent me, the bike bears the following numbers:

Modelo NSR250R
Code PB190A
Colo PB-190

The engine number is apparently MCIGE-1016865

All other markings on the bike are apparently in Japanese. Whilst I know a fair amount about bikes, my collection is principally restricted to Brit bikes from the '60's.

Below are some photos that the vendor has supplied me with - perhaps someone could enlighten me regarding the year and model of the bike

If there is any interest in the bike either complete or for parts, I will gladly act as intermediary and put the interested buyer in touch with the seller - i suspect that, given teh age and condition of the bike, there are no papers which might complcate export is someone wishes to buy the bike complete as it stands, but as with most things in Mexico, there is usuallly a way around such problems!!

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Richard - Mexico City
