carb advise please.

nsrmonkey » Sun Apr 17, 2005 6:31 pm

hello again..
took my NSR for its firt run today nd it wasnt right, when its in neutral it will rev nicely, pop it into gear and try to pull away it was dying to the point where you needed to really slip the clutch or it would stall, and when you were riding it if you shut of the throttle then opened it up it felt hesitant and would then go fine. i've already picked stephens brains about this (thanks mate thats another beer i owe you) and he said possibly a sticky float as i thought there was petrol coming out of the overflow, turns out my fuel pipe to the carbs had a little split.
soooo i thought that was possibly the reason so put it all back together tried it and it was still the same, i've also dicovered that you can rev it nicely like i said earlier but if you wack the throttle open it will die..kinda like WING..WING..WING..BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRPP..stall.
i am 99% sure the carbs are at fully stock settings any ideas boys Smile
