Did a full day in the shed today.
Last week picked up a second MC18. This one is a runner! So, had to take it for a little test ride...............wow!!!!! I am HOOKED! First ride on a two stroke road bike, WOW! Its not running right, pulls hard through the mid-range, but seems to be a little short up top. It hasn't had the wire splice done, or any modification, and, WOW!!! So now the go is to get one regestered, and one as a track bike. Now I have to start hunting around for a set of farings, or save and buy a tyga set. Also lots of little bits and pieces, some of which are coming. So its going to be a busy winter.

This is the new bike.

Moriwaki silencers (not really!), any good?

Its ratty

And filthy dirty

But it goes!

So then got stuck into cleaning and pulling apart the other bikes carbs, as the previous owner said that was where the problem lay. Yeah, the problems begin when peole sikaflex float bowls on, and then wonder why their bikes don't run well!

Carbs don't look good!

Anyway, soaked it in acetone, got all the gooey gunk out, cleaned everything and put it back together. The beauty of having a second bike.....instruction manual in 3D!
Put carbs and airbox and tank on the first bike, fuel and oil, fuel tap leaks! Well, the long and short of it, I wanted to get it running today but as the ignition switch is dodgy, the coils unknown, and the day almost gone, it will have to wait for next weekend to see if it will go. I didn't get around to checking the spark, so will have a day of fault diagnosing next sunday.
But got to ride an NSR for the first time!!!! Am still on a high!
WOW!
