Right well not much progress really, been quite busy sorting a few other bikes. Getting all the bits together to sell the rgv, anyone want to buy one? Wink And as usual sorting everyone elses bikes out!

Progress is, well I have been thinking more about the swingarm fitment, I'm possibly going to cut the linkage mounting off the '21 swingarm, machine both faces flat and weld in an extension to bring it into the same dimensions as the mc16 item. But first I'm going to knock some plates up that will allow me to fit it as is, you never know, it might just work! It will be handy to have the ratios for that swingarm just in case they are needed in the future. Someone might need them.. maybe!

Collected a few more parts, got the pgmII and loom to fit, not 100% sure if it will work with the mc16 stator but nothing impossible to sort out if it doesnt!
Got a set of wets on wheels too, typically, I used an 18" rear as I was struggling to find an mc21 rear.. then a week later I win an mc21 rear wheel for next to nothing on fleabay. Oh well.. might sell the 18" rear with a wet tyre and use the '21 item. See what happens!

This weeks task has been to get the engine out for some tuning work, as everyone knows the mc16 cases are very restrictive, and comparing them to the mc18 cases I have confirms a few physical differences. Also the barrels are having a makeover too, try and eek a few more ponies out of the bugger...

Some pictures of the slow progress...

getting the engine out..

Quite a peach of a lump really, easy to strip the whole engine down with it in situ. Makes lifting out so much easier. I am starting to see the difference between the nsr engines and the rgv's..

L/H crank seal been leaking by the looks of things..

Big end about to fail I wonder? Look at the difference in rollers between this one

and this one

I have a spare luckily.... Embarassed

And of course cleaning the parts, nothing pisses a tuner off better than sending them shite encrusted parts.. Laughing

Until next time... Hopefully now winter is here the jobs will drop off enabling me to get more done !
